I remember when I first ventured down the path of coffee roasting. I had watched people roasting on a skillet via YouTube but I thought coffee was mostly massed produced in large factories. Never did I dream that there was an entire world of small scale specialty roasters and home roasters pushing the limits to coffee quality and flavor. I take pride in their work and love the amazing coffee that has resulted in this push. The farmers benefiting from the specialty coffee push should be of the utmost importance to anyone truly dedicated to quality coffee. Without them, our lives would be completely different. Hats off to these men and women who grow this amazing crop. I created this video to help people just getting into roasting to understand a basic overview of the coffee roasting process. We will dive into other areas of the coffee roasting process in other videos later down the road.
